I am a Rhode Island based artist, but also have roots in Massachusetts. Originally from western Pennsylvania, I came to New England in 1980. I earned a BS from Penn State University and a MFA from Boston University.
My primary medium is clay either fired or cast in a variety of materials such as bronze, resin and paper. I look for inspiration in the living form which I find to be so expressive, complex and challenging. I approach my artwork by searching for the inner life of my subjects and strive to reveal it by understanding anatomy and the dynamics and movement of the body whether human or animal. I hope that viewers will feel the energy that animates the sculptures and drawings I create.
